Veridocs classifies the document capture hardware based on the size of the document processed and the types of data secured.  A detailed analysis of both sides of the document guarantees the documents meet all of your application needs.

Document Dimension

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) specifies three standard ID sizes:

  • ID-1 (standard U.S. ID type, credit cards, e.g.)
  • ID-2 (slightly larger than ID-1, but still wallet-sized)
  • ID-3 (used for passports, visas, and travel permits, e.g.)

Various documents include a magnetic stripe (also called magstripes).

Lighting Sources

There are varying lighting conditions under which different documents need to be examined to accurately identify security attributes:

  • Visible
  • Near-infrared
  • Ultraviolet
  • Coaxial
  • Directional

Depending on the application and factors such as size and cost, different document capture devices are available.
